How long should I let Goof Off® Foam & Caulk Remover work before trying to scrape it off?
Apply and let sit for at least two hours. Test scrape the surface to see if the caulk is soft enough to remove; if not continue to let sit longer and test scrape every half hour or so until it’s ready to come off. Silicone caulk will take longer to remove than latex.
How can I tell if I have silicone, latex or another kind of caulk?
The majority of caulk used contains either silicone or latex. Latex caulk is most often used as weatherproofing around window and doors, silicone caulk is used both indoors and out, and is often used in bathroom and kitchen applications. Butyl caulk is used far less frequently, typically in exterior applications to brick, stone, concrete and aluminum.
Can I use Goof Off® Foam & Caulk Remover to take caulk out of clothing?
Test the product in a small, inconspicuous spot first to insure no damage to clothing.
Can I use Goof Off® Foam & Caulk Remover on glass?
Yes, Goof Off® Foam & Caulk Remover is safe for use on glass surfaces to remove latex caulk. Silicone caulk on glass will need to be abraded from the surface.
Do I need to scrape the caulk off?
Yes, when caulk is softened enough to come off with a scraper, scrape off and clean the surface with water to remove any residue.
Will Goof Off® Foam & Caulk Remover help remove wallpaper and wallpaper paste?
No, it wasn’t designed for this purpose. Once the wallpaper’s removed a good product to help remove the wallpaper paste is Klean Strip® TSP Substitute.
